Meriam Chaal

Dr Meriam Chaal is a maritime and safety engineering expert with over 13 years of experience spanning industry and research. She is a doctor of science in the safety of autonomous ships (Aalto University, Finland), where she currently serves as a senior researcher and project manager. Dr Chaal has collaborated with leading industry players such as ABB, FinnPilot and Wartsila, contributing to early development and regulatory adaptations for autonomous systems. Dr Chaal is also a ship engineer officer with over four years of seafarer experience on board large passengers ships.
