Tom EystøTom Eystø is a seasoned maritime professional with over two decades of experience at Kongsberg Maritime. He has played a pivotal role in the development of autonomous maritime technologies, serving as the Vice President and Head of the Autonomy Program. Eystø’s expertise extends to dynamic positioning and other advanced maritime technologies. His career also includes time spent in Asia as a Regional Support Manager and service in the Norwegian Navy. Eystø holds a Bachelor’s degree in Robotics and currently leads Massterly as its CEO, steering the company towards innovative solutions in autonomous shipping.
The operational landscape: a status report from the frontlines
Massterly has played an important role in autonomous ship operations since its establishment in 2018. As a joint venture between Wilhelmsen and Kongsberg Maritime, Massterly combines ship management and control room operations using advanced technology to manage the complete value chain for autonomous vessels. This approach involves being part of the design, development and operational services, which ensures safety, efficiency and reliability in maritime logistics, subsea surveys and ROV operations.
